Our Vision

"Religion is one of the most important forces in the world. Whether you are a Christian, a Muslim, a Buddhist, a Jew, or a Hindu, religion can be a great force. And understanding others' views will help one have command of one's own morality, one's own behaviour and one's own attitudes".

Nelson Mandela

"We become not a melting pot but a beautiful mosaic. Different people, different beliefs, different yearnings, different hopes, different dreams".

Jimmy Carter

At College Road Primary School we understand that religion continues to play a key role in the world today, influencing events, locally and globally, both positively and negatively, and impacts everyone, whether they are a follower of a particular faith or hold no religious beliefs. Therefore, we will strive to ensure our pupils become knowledgeable, tolerant and respectful learners of Religious Education, interested in exploring and questioning what people believe and the differences this makes to how people live their lives.

We will ensure that pupils gain the knowledge and skills needed to understand the core beliefs of a variety of individuals and communities, to handle questions raised by religion, to debate issues of morality and humanity, and to begin exploring and expressing their own viewpoints, values and beliefs. We know that this learning will strengthen children and their connections to communities near and far, enabling them to reflect on their own ideas and ways of living, and of those that they will encounter as they travel through life.
