PSHE

Our Vision

"We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future." Frankin D. Roosevelt.

Here, at College Road Primary School we value PSHE as a way to support children's development as human beings, to enable them to understand and respect who they are, to empower them with a voice and to equip them for life and learning.

We teach PSHE using Jigsaw as it has a strong emphasis on emotional literacy, building resilience and nurturing mental and physical health. This, in turn, helps our children understand and value how they fit into and contribute to the world.

It also gives us a wonderful opportunity to embed the principles of oracy, and teach our children how to be effective communicators. Our PSHE curriculum offers countless opportunities to teach children about equality and diversity including celebrating differences, gender, disability, age and orientation.

As a Values Based Education school, we promote and teach values to link with health, relationships and sex education, such as self-respect, trust, honesty and curiosity developed in a safe environment.
