Our Vision

"I found I could say things with colour and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for." Georgia O'Keeffe

The arts provide opportunities for children to become their own unique artists. It allows them to respond to their experiences, explore their local environment and develop their imagination. The arts provide opportunities to give children real life, purposeful learning and experiences. The arts form areas of literature, performing arts, visual arts (including craft and design), media and multimedia link naturally with many areas of the curriculum. Visual arts offer a means of communication that is not bound by written or spoken language. They provide learning opportunities for expression of feelings and judgement-making about the visual world and how other artists have interpreted it through history, leading to an understanding and appreciation of the methods and motives of people, other cultures and times.
